30 Days of Hope | Emilia

"Emilia was born at 23 weeks and 2 days! We were in the NICU for 141 days, our sweet babe was intubated 5 times total during her stay. She had multiple blood transfusions, x-rays, malabsorption issues, lung issues and feeding issues. Once we settled her malabsorption issue, we decided to have a G-tube placed. She came home on 10/25/21 on low flow nasal cannula and a g-tube!
She is now a crazy 3 years old!
She still has a speech delay, outside of the NICU we have dealt with infantile spasms, and eye issues, but she has been seizure free for 2 years! Emilia has had lots and lots of in home and out patient therapies to get her where she is today! She is currently in preschool, still gets weekly speech and occupational therapy, is in feeding clinic and slowly getting used to eating purées.
I owe my life to the wonderful NICU staff to help get our sweet babe to where she is now! " NICU Mama, Jessica
