"My son Cayden was born at 26 weeks in February 2014, and he weighed 2 lbs 1oz. He spent a total of 188 days between 2 NICUs at UAB Women & Infants Center RNICU and Children’s of Alabama (COA).
Cayden overcame having NEC, being septic, extremely low glucose levels, severe apnea, severe GERD and receiving a g tube, having rickets that resulted in 5 fractures, and a blood clot in his leg. He came home on 10 medications, and 14 doctors.
Cayden is currently 10 years old, and has 2 younger brothers. He loves art, music, and history. He receives special education for developmental delays. Our family is so thankful for all that our son Cayden has overcome!" NICU Mama, Japonica
